Four Generations of Trust, Honesty, Dignity, and Respect

PSC’s history is rooted in four generations of family ownership. Earl F. Sever, Sr. founded PSC (then Piqua Steel Company) in 1933, operating upon the values of Trust, Honesty, Dignity, and Respect. In the past 87 years, Earl’s values have helped us withstand the Great Depression, expand into new trades and markets, and maintain quality, long-term relationships with our employees and customers.

Now under leadership of Earl’s great-grandsons Jim and Randy Sever, PSC’s core values inform everything we do—from treating both employees and customers like family, to performing all of our work with efficiency and reliability.

We show Trust, Honesty, Dignity, and Respect in our outstanding work, diligent service standards, and high employee retention. It’s why, in 87 years, we’ve become statewide leaders in the crane and rigging industry—and we continue to grow.

A Tight-Knit Family with Big Aspirations

To become North America’s most efficient mover and maintainer of heavy industrial equipment, we’re expanding our family—with values in tow. We’re acquiring new equipment to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs and expanding into new markets. And by reinvesting company profits into our resources, we’ll continue to increase our capabilities.

With our future-forward vision, we’re well-prepared to withstand unexpected challenges. We weathered 2020 without laying off any employees, and we’ve kept busy with a backlog of projects. In 2021, we plan on expanding our capital assets and are looking towards growth in the region. We look forward to expanding our capabilities to serve the people in our area.

In these times, it’s essential that we all reflect on our hard-won victories, acknowledge our lessons learned and opportunities for improvement, and make a firm step forward into the coming year.

Thanks to DBJ for naming PSC their Family Business of the Year—and congratulations to all the honorees.
